Banning Boring
Yep my Google Slides are very boring! Today has given me some new tools to put in my tool box as well as thinking about what I can do to give my Year 7/8 students choice, encouraging them to be self managing learners and make them excited about their learning.
Sharon had some great tips around making slides interesting to the students.
Emilie backed it up with lots of practical ways to use it in the classroom.
This is me playing with different backgrounds and settings.
Another great session with Dorothy this morning.
Other memorable moments today:
- Google Draw, Ive decided its not my go to. I much prefer Google Slides and at the moment it is serving me well.
- Hapara I need to work more on
- Loved learning about Youtube and making a play list.
- Discovered that my own children love it too!!
- Going to try at some point a Green Screen for recording
This Weeks Tasks
- I am going to continue on my Google Slide journey and learn something new
- I am going to look at Google Keep. Im a lists girl so think this is going to suit me well.
- I would like Sharon to work with me and my students on Screen Castify or video to record themselves reading a poem.
- I would like to start looking with groups at Voice Tracker to record themselves reading to make a log and to hear fluency and punctuation.
I really enjoyed being at home for this session. Felt relaxed and not so pressured for some reason. I would actually love to be working at home for all sessions!
