 Great day for a last day. Oh my, how far we have come!

Today we reflected on what a journey it has been on this DFI course together. We have had lots of laughs and learnt so much.....

A little bit of time today learning about the new Digital curriculum. Would have loved some more time exploring this and pondering how this applies to my classroom and our school environment.  I dont think its going to be as scary or daunting as I thought.

Time with Dorothy was spent listening to her speak about the environment where al lot of our children are.

• We learnt about that word Agency which means empowerment.  Another example of a word that was so trendy and now is not so.. The circle we work in aye.
• These children come to school with a development age of a 3 year old - not just academic but more globally such as coordination
• 32 million words missing for some of those kids
• Turn over - ⅓ of Decile 1 children shift schools every year. 
• 5 plus a day can change the deficit really quickly. 5 plus conversations
• Blog post conversations  are a great tool.

The greatest joy comes from empowering students to discover the treasure that lies within them.

The rest of the day was spent learning about Computational Thinking.

I had a great time learning to Code. So excited to get back to the class and teach the students. They are going to love it. My 11 year old son has just started his technology unit on Coding so its a great opportunity to learn and practice together :-)

So on a final note wanted to say a huge thank you to the 'Fab 4'. You have been my super heroes!

You have endless amounts of patience and kindness and its been such a joy learning from you.
